Happy Birthday, Kangna Ranaut!

Kangna Ranaut is one of the few actors who actually admit their true age. Today (March 23), she turns 25.
The Tanu Weds Manu actor entered Bollywood as a naïve 17 year old and shocked everyone with her powerful performances in Gangster and Woh Lamhe. She even won the Filmfare Best Debut (Female) Award for Gangster. She was even lauded for playing supporting roles in Fashion and Life…in a Metro. She has agreed to play a negative character in the sequel to Krrish. Over the course of her eight years in Bollywood she has transformed herself from a gawky teenager to a fashionista. Dev Anand bestowed with ‘Rashtriya Kishore Kumar Sanman’

The Madhya Pradesh government honoured legendary actor, Dev Anand with the 14th Rastriya Kishore Kumar Samman on the occasion of the late singer’s 25th death anniversary. According to a minister, an amount of Rs 2 lakh, an honour plaque and a shawl were given to the octogenerian actor for excellence in direction at his Mumbai residence.  The evergreen hero, apart from a stellar career on screen, has produced some very memorable films, including Johnny Mera NaamGuide, Jewal Thief and Hare Rama Hare Krishna. The 88-year-old has also been honoured with Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award previously.  A grand function was also held at Khandwa, Kishoreda’s birthplace, in the singer’s memory.

Amitabh Bachchan to star in RGV’s ‘Department’

Amitabh Bachchan confirmed on his blog that he will be doing a “friendly appearance” as a gangster-turned-politician in Ram Gopal Varma’s film Department. He wrote, “Ram Gopal Varma’s Department where I have agreed to do a friendly appearance begins next week and that should come as a somewhat better proposition for me.” Interestingly, the film was earlier supposed to star Abhishek Bachchan in the lead. It has now gone to Rana Daggubati due to Jr Bachchan’s ‘date problems’. Others in the cast of Department include Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Nasseruddin Shah and Anjana Sukhani. RGV and Big B have worked together in Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, RGV Ki Aag, Nishabd and Rann.
