    First draft of ‘Dabangg 2’ ready: Arbaaz Khan

    Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan has already begun work on the sequel to his National Award-winning film Dabangg and says the first draft of the script is ready. “Work on Dabangg 2 in on. We are waiting for Salman (Khan) bhai‘s dates. We are likely to begin the production in mid-September next year,” Arbaaz said on the sidelines of the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) at Kingdom of Dreams late Thursday night. The film, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, became 2010’s biggest blockbuster by earning Rs 145 crore. Arbaaz admits he is nervous about making a sequel. “There is a little nervousness for sure as the expectations are high but we would definitely be presenting something good and interesting,” he added.

    Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’ sweeps GIMA with six awards

    Milan Luthria’s Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai finished a close second with four awards
    Salman Khan’s Dabangg continues its winning spree. The National Award-winning film which boasted of the chartbuster Munni badnaam hui walked away with six awards, including best film album, at the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA). The event was held at the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon on Thursday night. Mamta Sharma won the best music debut for Munni badnaam. The best music director award went to Sajid-Wajid and Lalit Pandit for their compositions in the movie. Dabangg also won the technical awards for best background score by Sandeep Shirodkar, best engineer-film album by Eric Pillai and best engineer-theatre mix for Leslie Fernandes.     Shahrukh Khan remembers Pataudi as friend’s friend

    Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan says he had “huge attachment” to Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi who died Thursday, and remembers the Indian cricket legend as a “friend’s friend”. “The news of Pataudi sir is very saddening. He was an iconic figure. I have met him and known him very closely. Since the time I was young, I have had huge attachment to him. He was a gentleman and a friend’s friend,” Shah Rukh told reporters in Gurgaon. He was speaking on the sidelines of the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA). Pataudi died after battling a lung infection for about a month. The former Indian captain, 70, is survived by his wife, actress Sharmila Tagore, and three children, daughters Soha and Saba and son Saif Ali Khan. “I will definitely go and meet the family,” the 45-year-old star said. “I am close to Saif and Soha.”
