Known for her unconventional choice of scripts, Kalki Koechlin says it’s time Bollywood filmmakers sat back and got the idea of commercial cinema right. The actor, who also supports bold portrayal of women on the big screen, says filmmakers should avoid mixing entertainment with a moral story. “I find that a lot of times what’s wrong with commercial cinema is not the subject, but how when people are making an action film they end up putting gyaan in it. Anurag Kashyap plans ‘No Smoking’ sequel with John Abraham?
Known to make offbeat movies, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap won accolades for That Girl In Yellow Boots, Black Friday, Gulal, and Dev D but the director now makes plans to make a sequel to the John Abraham starrer, No Smoking. The director wishes to tie loose ends and start the movie from where the first part ended. He tweets, “I really want to do a sequel to No Smoking, and with John Abraham and he does too…” The 2007 film was a dark and gritty tale of a chain smoker. While the movie tanked at the box office then, will taking John again for the sequel be the right decision? However, Kashyap is not yet sure how the story would go and so he has asked suggestions from twitterati. “Anybody has an idea? I mean it…I want to make it as a continuation of the same film.” Well let’s hope the director nails it this time!
