Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla to own Indian Racing League’s Mumbai team

Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla to own Indian Racing League’s Mumbai team

Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar might pick a small stake in the League, called the i1 Super Series
Not satisfied with investing in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the team of Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Jai Mehta are planning to buy a US$20m racing team in the newly launched Indian Racing League. The contract will be for 15 years. Called the i1 Super Series, the league is promoted by the Machdar Motorsports company. The first series will be held from January 8-February 26, 2012. And in April, it will be IPL time. We wonder why Shahrukh Khan is consciously devoting a quarter of his year and his money to activities other than films. SRK’s Kolkata Knight Riders hasn’t performed that well in the IPL, and now he is investing in a racing team, still a niche sport in India with less infrastructure and drivers. Looks like the RA.One star is planning for his retirement! Click here to read more

Lady Gaga greets India with tricolour hairdo

The Born This Way singer wore an outfit by Naeem Khan, an Indian designer based out of New York
Simple yet elegant – Lady Gaga chose to leave her bizarre dressing style back home for her first formal appearance in New Delhi Friday. She wore a one-shoulder gown by an Indian designer, added the desi twist with a tricolour hairdo, and greeted the audience with a confident Namaste. “Namaste everyone! I am so glad to be here. I could never even imagine that I would get to come to India and perform and meet my new, amazing fans that are here in India. So I would like to say thank you to all of you. My deepest gratitude,” Gaga told reporters. The 25-year-old global pop icon, who is here to perform at the F1 after-party in Greater Noida Sunday, made a stylish entrance wearing a pair of black shades. She wore a sparkling neckpiece with simple earrings to match, but what attracted was her bouffant, which had streaks of saffron and green – colours of the Indian flag. “Today I am wearing a dress by Naeem Khan, an Indian designer based out of New York,” she said. Deepika Padukone on the cover of Hi! Blitz

The sexy babe shoots for the latest issue of the magazine which is based on Formula 1, one of world’s most dangerous and popular sports that’s headed to India this year
Deepika Padukone poses with a magnificent Force India team car and also sports the cool F1 uniform. The cover girl’s costumes have been designed by labels such as Falguni and Shane Peacock, Dior and Steve Madden. Coming from a sports background, the actor looked pretty comfortable shooting in a sporty avatar. The shoot took place in Bangalore, Deepika’s favourite city and hometown. As the magazine is owned by entrepreneur Vijay Mallya, there’s an obvious connection here as Dips has been dating the businessman’s son Sidhartha Mallya for quite sometime now. And the liquor baron also co-owns the Force India team. We think Deepika looks gorgeous. Let us know what you think about her look. Click here to read more

Promoting a film today is all about presence, presence, presence. And, apart from star appearances on every platform possible, from TV serials to reality shows to multiplexes and malls, merchandising and logos play a huge part…
We recently heard that Shahrukh Khan wants to show off his speed – if he has his way, RA.One will blazon its message on Michael Schumacher’s F1 car for the Indian Grand Prix, a pie that SRK already has a finger in, if rumour is to be believed. Click here to read more
