    The Karnataka State Film Awards 2010-11 has given its verdict and declared Puneeth Rajkumar and Kalyani as best actor male and female for their respective performances in the films Prithvi and Suicide. While the Dr Rajkumar Award for lifetime achievement went to veteran actor-producer-director S Shivaram, the ‘Puttanna Kanagal Award’ for outstanding contribution in the field of direction has been given to veteran director Bhargava. Ambarish has been considered for the ‘Dr Vishnuvardhan Award’ for contribution to Kannada cinema. Click here to read more

    Karnataka State Film Awards for Vishnuvardhan, Anu Prabhakar

    The Karnataka State awards for the year 2009-10 have been announced
    Late actor Vishnuvardhan (posthumous) and Anu Prabhakar have bagged the best actor and best actress award for their performances in Aptharakshaka and Pareekshe respectively. Rasarishi Kuvempu directed by debutant Ritwick Simha bagged the best first film award. Manasaare directed by Yogaraj Bhatt and Love Guru directed by debutant Prashanth Raj were adjudged the second best and the third best film respectively. The Dr Rajkumar Award for Lifetime Achievement, SR Puttanna Kanagal Award for Lifetime Achievement in Direction and Dr Vishnuvardhan Award for Lifetime Achievement in Production has been conferred to veterans RN Sudarshan, CV Shivashankar and SD Ankalagi respectively. Girish Kasaravalli’s Kanasembo Kudureyaneri, which has bagged some national and international awards including the best actor for Vyjanath Biradaar at the Madrid International Film Festival, has been rejected outright by the Dwarakish committee.
