Madhur Bhandarkar summoned by court in rape case
Director Madhur Bhandarkar finds another reason for sleepless nights. A seven year old case comes back to haunt the director. In 2004, struggling actor, Preeti Jain filed a complaint against Bhandarkar accusing the director of rape under the pretext of offering her a lead role in his film. She also said that whenever she refused to comply with his demands, he would force himself on her. In 2005, the actress was arrested for hiring a contract killer to murder Bhandarkar. However, the police requested the court then to dismiss the case against the director as they found Preeti’s allegations false. The Magistrate has now summoned the director to appear before the court and give his statement regarding the case on October 18.
