Om Puri: ‘Chhal Sheh Aur Maat’ is clean entertainment
The veteran theatre, television and film actor is unhappy with the current standards of programming
Om Puri returns to the small screen after over a decade as a sutradhar or storyteller for new TV show Chhal Sheh Aur Maat. Malamaal Weekly sequel: Shreyas Talpade replaces Riteish Deshmukh
The buzz doing the rounds is that Riteish Deshmukh won’t be reprising his Malamaal Weekly role in the film’s sequel. Priyadarshan is all set to start filming Malamaal Weekly 2, but it won’t star Riteish. Instead, it will star Hum Tum Shabana actor Shreyas Talpade in a pivotal role. Shreyas’ comic timing is really good so we can expect a lot from this movie. About the rest of the cast, well, we are not yet sure if any of them will reprise their roles. And all you Priyadarshan fans out there, you are right. This is the first time the director is filming a sequel. The film is part of a three movie deal he has signed with Percept Picture Company. The other two movies he will direct for them are Grrr and AIDS. Considering that Malamaal Weekly didn’t do expected business, we wonder what’s the point of a sequel. Maybe Priyadarshan will get second time lucky.
