Saif Ali Khan will be the 10th Nawab of Pataudi state. The Indian government no longer recognises such kingly titles, but at the behest of locals of the princely state in Haryana the Bollywood denizen has agreed to take on the title. The crowning ceremony will be conducted 40 days after the demise of Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. However Saif refuses to prefix the title with his name and wants his father be known as the last Nawab of Pataudi. By the way, the superstar’s new role comes with a set of responsibilities. Saif will now have to manage his father’s estate, the ancestral abode, and continue the charitable and social activities for the state of Pataudi.

Soha Ali Khan: It’s difficult to accept dad’s death
It is difficult for cricket legend Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi’s family to accept his death, Bollywood actor and his daughter Soha Ali Khan said Wednesday. “I recall him with a lot of love. There is still a lot of disbelief at the moment that he is no more. It is difficult for me and my family,” Soha told reporters on the sidelines of a programme organised by coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day and ITC’s stationery brand ITC Classmate. When asked about the love and support that has poured in from all over the world after the death of Tiger Pataudi, Soha said: “My family and I really appreciate the love and support that we have received from all over India and the world. We thank everyone for standing by us in this difficult moment.” Pataudi, who led India in 40 Test matches, died September 22 following a lung infection.

Kareena Kapoor resumes work after Pataudi’s funeral
Kareena Kapoor finally returns to Mumbai this evening to resume work. The actor had flown to Delhi to attend the funeral of Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. She lent her support to beau, Saif Ali Khan and her future family after the demise of the Nawab. Kareena who will soon be seen opposite Shahrukh Khan in RA.One had left the promotions mid way to attend the funeral. In spite of SRK assuring her that she could take her time to come back, Bebo was keen to get busy again. The actor will land in Mumbai tonight and begin work immediately. She is keen to take the burden of Agent Vinod off Saif Ali Khan’s shoulders while he is in mourning. Saif is still in Delhi and will be there for some time with his family.

We heard that a shattered Saif Ali Khan might be dedicating his solo home production Agent Vinod to his late father Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. Sources close to actor said, “Saif is really upset since he wanted his father to watch his film, as he always believed that his parents were his best critics”. Saif and his production team now plan to dedicate Agent Vinod to his late father, fondly known as Tiger. “Saif is also planning to pay a tribute to the legendary cricket star in his film,” we heard. Meanwhile, it seems Kareena too has planned to postpone her script narration and dress rehearsals of Heroine with Madhur Bhandarkar. Pataudi’s daughter, Soha Ali Khan has also postponed the promotional plans of her forthcoming film Soundtrack.

Shahrukh Khan remembers Pataudi as friend’s friend
Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan says he had “huge attachment” to Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi who died Thursday, and remembers the Indian cricket legend as a “friend’s friend”. “The news of Pataudi sir is very saddening. He was an iconic figure. I have met him and known him very closely. Since the time I was young, I have had huge attachment to him. He was a gentleman and a friend’s friend,” Shah Rukh told reporters in Gurgaon. He was speaking on the sidelines of the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA). Pataudi died after battling a lung infection for about a month. The former Indian captain, 70, is survived by his wife, actress Sharmila Tagore, and three children, daughters Soha and Saba and son Saif Ali Khan. “I will definitely go and meet the family,” the 45-year-old star said. “I am close to Saif and Soha.”
