Revealed: Jab Tak Hai Jaan’s inspiration!
Spoiler alert: If you haven’t seen Jab Tak Hai Jaan yet and are planning to watch it, look away now! The source from where the movie’s central plot point is inspired is going to be revealed here
Picture this. A man and a woman are in the throes of a passionate affair when, suddenly, the man has a near-fatal accident. He survives but is puzzled when his lover is nowhere to be seen. She’s disappeared. Eventually, he finds out that when she thought he was going to die, she made a promise to God not to see him again if He allowed him to live.
If you think this is a reference to the Shahrukh Khan-Katrina Kaif track in Yash Chopra’s swansong Jab Tak Hai Jaan, then you are correct. However, this, like many such instances in Bollywood, is not original. Click here to read more

Anil Kapoor, Asif Kapadia at the BAFTA 2012 Awards
The Mission: Impossible actor presented an award in his third appearance at the BAFTAs. Indian director Asif Kapadia won best documentary for Senna
Anil Kapoor was seen at the BAFTA 2012 in what was his third appearance at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (his first was after Slumdog Millionaire). Looking dapper in a black tuxedo with a red bow tie, the actor presented the award for Film not in the English Language to Spanish flick The Skin I Live In, directed by celebrated filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and starring Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya, Marisa Paredes. Incidentally, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat had missed out in the final nominations of the award category on January 17, 2012.
Another Indian, Asif Kapadia, took home a trophy for the best documentary for his film on the famous Formula 1 racer Ayrton Senna, titled Senna. The director’s Irrfan Khan-starrer The Warrior had won Best British Film at BAFTA 2002, after being rejected for Best Foreign Language Film the previous year since its co-producers were British.
By the way, Anil Kapoor won’t be with his wife this Valentine’s Day and the greeting card he has bought for her is no longer a surprise. We suggest he buy her some diamonds or something on his way back, ‘cos the card is not gonna be enough! Click here to read more
‘Spider-Man’ destroys Bollywood: India box office report
The Amazing Spider-Man has got the highest opening weekend ever for a Hollywood film in India. With the box office collections at Rs 34.5 crore, it beat MI4, Avatar and The Avengers
It doesn’t happen too often, but when it does, it happens with a vengeance. India’s spider senses were set tingling with the release of The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield as the rebooted web slinger and our own Irrfan in a sadly minuscule role. It wasn’t Irrfan that Indian audiences flocked to see – it was just good solid Hollywood action in the original English and dubbed into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and in 3D, 2D and IMAX formats. Amidst all the speculation that Anil Kapoor was angry with Aamir Khan for making fun of his chest hair in the item song from Delhi Belly, our own export to Hollywood made an entry into the success party of the film. Anil walked in after 10pm, and went straight to the private room where the Delhi Belly team was chilling after the media interaction. Click here to read more
Anil Kapoor’s blink-and-you-miss-him appearance in MI4’s new trailer!
After all the hullabaloo and promises, the Bollywood star makes a fleeting appearance in the latest promo of his first bone fide Hollywood film. And it has saddened us…again!
When the first promo of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol was released in India Anil Kapoor fans – like us – all over the world were mighty disappointed. There was no hint of the Bollywood biggie in the 2.24-minute-long trailer of the Hollywood flick. That’s what you get after all the big noise about the Slumdog Millionaire actor’s debut with the Top Gun dude! Anyway, soon the concerned production houses sprang into action and dashed out press releases stating that the next trailer would have Anil Kapoor in it, all to pacify his clamouring fans. SPOTTED: Irrfan Khan in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ trailer!
Hollywood’s fave Indian actor Irrfan Khan was missing from the first trailer of The Amazing Spider-Man, but is seen in a blink-and-miss appearance in the new video out Tuesday
Irrfan Khan plays a scientist called Dr Ratha in The Amazing Spider-Man. The film’s publicist says it’s not a long role but it’s crucial to the story. We do hope so! Remember how disappointed we were seeing Anil Kapoor in Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol? But for Irrfan, we’re sure he puts his heart and soul into any acting project he takes up anywhere. While he impressed us in films like The Namesake and A Mighty Heart, he had a small role in Slumdog Millionaire among many other Hollywood films. Wethinks he deserved a bigger act in the new Spider-Man and even its promo. But why speculate before we have even seen the film? It’s only a trailer! Tell us what you think.

Did Sonam Kapoor manage to impress Tom Cruise?
The Players babe has been one of the fans who eagerly waited for the universal heartthrob to visit India. Finally the wait was over and the Kapoor kid got to air kiss and hug Mr Cruise, but considering how she raved so much about him, we expected her to be the usual fashionably immaculate Sonam at the red carpet premiere of Mission Impossible 4-Ghost Protocol. The same Sonam who comes up with funky fashion ideas and always takes the unconventional route…
No we aren’t criticising what she wore at the event, but we are a tad disappointed ‘coz we have seen her mixing and matching her wardrobe and accessories brilliantly in the fairly recent past. Click here to read more

Hollywood star Tom Cruise decided to cash in on Anil Kapoor’s huge mass appeal amongst Asians and insisted on featuring the jhakas actor on the MI4 movie poster
Just a few days ago when we saw the theatrical release of the much touted Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, starring Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise, we could barely see Anil Kapoor’s presence in it. It was just a blink-and-miss sort of existence of the Slumdog Millionaire actor in the promo and the poster. This made us wonder if Kapoor has any significance in the movie at all. We did not see him anywhere as the promotions of MI4 started gaining momentum. But going by the new poster released by the production house of the film, featuring Anil Kapoor prominently on it, we heaved a sigh of relief! Click here to read more
