MLA movie review: This film will make your stomach churn!
Walking into Shiv Dubey’s MLA- An Inside Intruder with your tummy full is a dangerous proposition because you’ll either doze off or have haunting nightmares about the film for the days to come. If not, then you’ll simply throw up!
Picture this: you are watching a predictably boring 90’s film, preferably a C-grade production with an amazingly simplistic and dumb storyline. You have to look at actors who wear the same expression throughout the film and mouth the most cliched lines. The conventional ‘hero’ and ‘heroine’ break into a dance and go on a romantic escapade absolutely unannounced. Click here to read more
MLA quick movie review: Seedy and sloppy!
Since debutante director Shiv Dubey’s film, MLA, starring Mukesh Tiwari and Omkar Das Manikpuri, recently won a nomination at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF), we were expecting it to be a promising film. But going by what our reviewer told us midway through the movie, we don’t think it’s anywhere close to being watchable. Here’s what he had to say: “Shiv Dubey’s MLA is seedy, slow and sloppy. The story is extremely predictable, acting is creepy and dialogues are comical. Manikpuri (of Peepli Live fame) fails to deliver. Mukesh Tiwari is the only saving grace of this C-grade drama that tests your threshold for pain!” Let’s hope that our reviewer manages to stay till the end to give us the complete review of the film.
