GATTU movie review: An endearing peep into a child’s life!
Films with children as the main characters are no longer a rarity. Thank god for that! It’s imperative that our cinema cultivate a culture of entertainment that children can empathise with without the content becoming overpowering in its message-mongering motivations
Gattu is a delicately-threaded morality tale about a poor little boy, never sorry for himself, except when play-acting the role of the bereft waif to get his way, who is taken in by his uncle (Naresh Kumar, brilliantly in character). Click here to read more

The 12th New York Indian Film Festival announced its winners for 2012 at New York University’s Skirball Center for the Arts. The festival was held from May 23-27 at Tribeca Cinemas, Lower Manhattan. Director Rajan Khosa’s much-talked about film Gattu won the top honour of Best Film. Mohammad Samad, the child artiste in Gattu, won Best Young Actor, while Best Director went to Sujay Dahake for Marathi film Shala (School). Click here to read more
