Priyanka Chopra is all excited about the release of her forthcoming single, Exotic with the American rapper, Pitbull. The 30-year-old babe made a mark with her debut single, In My City featuring will.i.am and now Priyanka is expecting the same reaction to her second track as well. But one more prospect that has got the Miss World-turned-actor-turned-singer really gung ho is playback singing. “Vishal-Shekhar had  Salim Suleiman asked me to sing but I was shy. Playback singing should happen soon. I am just waiting for my album to come out!,” said Priyanka in an interview to a daily.

We know she has a good voice and can really be a good playback singer, but we are more excited with the idea of Priyanka doing a live rock show. Will she do that in the immediate future? We will ask her when we bump into her the next time!

The Barfi! actor has joined hands with the American rapper for her next single

Priyanka Chopra is excited about her next single track, Exotic. After working with Will.I.Am in her sensational debut single In My City, the Miss World-turned-actor-turned-singer is now looking forward to her next track with none other than the American rapper, Pitbull.

A little birdie has chirped to us that PeeCee is in Miami recording some remaining portions of the song. She will fly back to India and perform in Kolkata on April 2 at the IPL 6 opening ceremony.

We hope that the Chopra babe will stretch her vocal chords and perform on the In My City track at the glamorous do for cricket aficionados. Pitbull will also be making his presence felt at the grand ceremony. Since Jennifer Lopez turned down the offer of performing at the event, the American rapper has been roped in to give the cricketing gala an international touch. We are wondering if Pitbull and PC will give us a glimpse of their new ‘exotic’ composition on April 2. We are simply keeping our fingers crossed. What about you?

The actor is unhappy that the movie was completely ignored at this year’s National Awards

Priyanka Chopra has already won a National Award for her 2008 movie Fashion. But seldom does any actor feel satisfied with just one! It’s true in Priyanka’s case too as she was looking forward to winning a second National Award this year for her performance in Anurag Basu’s Barfi!.

Unfortunately Pee Cee lost out, but her cousin Parineeti Chopra did win a special mention at the National Awards 2013. After the winners were announced yesterday, Priyanka tweeted that she was glad that there were two trophies in the family now. But she also added, “I am feeling bad that Barfi! did not win a national award. But then it is up to the jury why they did not give the award.”

Well, Piggy Chops certainly kept her answer short and was quite careful not to reveal exactly how upset she was, but we could still gauge her disappointment. She had taken home a handful of awards for her portrayal of an autistic girl in Barfi!, and the movie was chosen as India’s official entry to the Oscars too. But it was totally ignored at the National Awards.

Well babes, it seems that the jury was gunning for original content this time around, and all those plagiarism rumours affected the film’s chances. We understand your disappointment PC, but there’s always a next time, right?

As International Women’s Day inched closer, we conducted a poll to find out, who according to our readers was their favourite woman of substance. And Priyanka Chopra has emerged as the winner with 41 per cent votes!

A fan stated that PeeCee’s commendable work in movies like Kaminey, Saat Khoon Maaf and Barfi! amongst others has helped her win this award. Her fans adore her – and that shows! – for the work that she’s been doing. Also, the actor is one of the most popular B-town celebs on the Internet – thanks to her social networking skills. But apart from all this PeeCee also managed to step out of the familiar confines of Bollywood and try her hand, rather voice, by signing a recording contract with Universal Music Group and DesiHits in 2011. In September 2012, her debut single In My City managed to floor many.

Then, Priyanka wholehearted supported Greenathon – An Environment Initiative that won her some brownie points. So guess all the effort, onscreen and off it has paid off.  And we cheer for this lady who believes in following her heart.

Another superstar who couldn’t (or wouldn’t) get hooked to the medium was Aamir Khan. He, we are told, was hardly interested in creating a Twitter handle. But a fine night while he was dining with Amitabh Bachchan, Big B kind of convinced Mr Perfectionist to try it out. And he did, only to lose interest a while later.

This makes us wonder what it is that draws actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra to social networking, while others move away. For celebs who have stayed put, wethinks it’s the need to stay connected to their fans that keeps them glued. Also, it’s a great way to promote oneself or something one is interested in, no?

But even this fabulous platform has its cons, and nasty ones that drove celebrities like Shahrukh, Aamir, Imran Khan and many others away. And that con is the ‘haters’. Yup, while fans shower the actors and assorted other celebs with love and appreciation, there are also those heartless critics who don’t mince words or think twice before speaking their minds against the actors. And we agree, sometimes such comments do get to you. Why, they even have the potency to spoil your day. Right?

So how do the Twitter-lovers manage to stay put? Say, for instance, how does Piggy Chops react to her haters? A quick look at her microblogging site revealed this tweet: “Thank u to all u supporters! U guys r so wonderful.feel like u feel my heartache!love.. As for the haters.. #unfollow pls!Anonymous cowards!” Now that’s pretty confrontational and smart, ain’t it?

A follower commented on Sr Bachchan’s tweet by saying, “rewarding someone’s talent by a trophy doesn’t make u famous man , try to win awards by fans heart:)” and Big B replied, “been trying that for the last 44 years janaab !! any ideas how I could accomplish that .. ?? would be truly grateful ..” Witty, right?

So the key could be to get creative and open to the haters – that is, if it’s difficult to ignore them. And perhaps their numbers will dwindle. But is it worth the effort? Maybe Aamir will disagree and find other means to stay connected, especially when he has a film up for release. And that’s fine. But what about those celebs who love tweeting but leave the platform only to keep safely away from the haters?

Of course, we don’t expect these two ladies to ‘meet-up’ specially for a cup of coffee. But what happens when they are at the same venue?

The B-town is a phunny place to be in. And sometimes, the actors of this town behave in a rather amusing manner. Take the case of Katrina Kaif, who dropped right next door to Priyanka Chopra’s sets in Film City. Piggy Chops, we are told, was shooting for an item number for Sanjay Gupta’s next movie Shootout At Wadala.

The Barfi actor will be shooting a special introductory song for the remake of Zanjeer

Piggy Chops will be shooting the special number with about 100 background dancers.“We will be shooting with Priyanka Chopra for a very special song. It is going to be an unusual number where you will see about 100 men dancing with the actor. We will be shooting for this song on January 27, 28 and 29,” said a source close to the film’s team.

“The introductory song will be choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and is composed by the Meet brothers. It is going to be a fun-filled sequence,” the source added. If reports are to be believed, film’s leading man Ram Charan Teja also has a special song for him. Produced by Amit Mehra and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the Zanjeer remake marks Southern star Ram Charan Teja’s debut in Bollywood.

While Ram Charan reprises megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s role of Vijay from the original film, Priyanka essays the role of Mala, earlier played by Jaya Bachchan.

If there is one thing that the sassy actor Priyanka Chopra understands, it is competition, and how to win the rat race. Bipasha Basu and Harman Baweja, it seems, are the newest couple in B-town. And these are not just rumours, as pictures of the duo having a good time and taking a dip in the pool in Goa, have recently surfaced.

The 34-year-old Bipasha flew to Goa on Sunday, along with her friends, to celebrate her birthday. She was joined by Harman and the duo celebrated Bipasha’s birthday on January 7th with a quiet bash in the company of friends. A source close to the couple said that they looked inseparable throughout the day and were also seen enjoying a romantic dance on Sunday night.

Ekta Kapoor ends all the confusion surrounding the casting of her upcoming film. It’s not Sonakshi or Parineeti but Pee Cee who will be playing the lead

There was quite a bit of confusion over who would play the female lead in Ekta Kapoor’s forthcoming production Milan Talkies. The small town love story, which will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia of Paan Singh Tomar fame, has been in the news over the casting of its leading lady. Initially, it was reported that Sonakshi Sinha could play the role of a girl from a small town since it was similar to her character in Dabangg. Later, rumours were abuzz that Priyanka Chopra would be playing the lead role.

However, when Imran Khan pushed his dates from March to August, speculations were rife that Priyanka would not be able to do the film, and her cousin Parineeti Chopra would play the lead instead. There was so much confusion about the project that Priyanka herself came out and tweeted that she was doing the film despite her hectic schedule, but later she deleted the tweet.

And now the film’s producer has finally released a statement confirming Pee Cee for the role. “I can confirm that Milan Talkies will go into production in August and there is no doubt that Priyanka will feature opposite Imran,” said an irate Ekta Kapoor. So finally, we wait for the film to take off with Piggy Chops and Imran on board.

The Ishaqzaade actor says she did not get her first break because of sister-actor Priyanka Chopra

Parineeti Chopra, who made her Bollywood debut last year with Ladies VS Ricky Bahl, cleared the air during an episode of television show Live My Live 2 aired on UTV Stars.

Parineeti said there is this popular belief that she got her first movie because of her sister, Priyanka, but the fact is that she knew Maneesh Sharma, who directed Ladies VS Ricky Bahl, since a long time and that’s how she was approached.

Tuhin, a fashion designer from Kolkata, met Parineeti on the show. Parineeti told Tuhin how she is called a tomboy by her father and he always tells her to be more feminine and classy. She says he wants her to behave a little more reserved, instead of being the frank person that she is. Tuhin gifted Parineeti a gown, that he created in one night, after being informed that he was selected for the show.

The episode featuring the actor will be aired on Monday, December 31.

Serious date complications and a full kitty could take away the Tigmanshu Dhulia project from the actor

Priyanka Chopra is keeping rather busy these days. So busy, in fact, that it could affect her role in director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s film Milan Talkies opposite Imran Khan.

Thanks to Imran’s date issues, the producer had to push shooting for the film to August next year. And with four films in her 2013 kitty already – Zanjeer, Krrish 3, Gunday and the Mary Kom biopic, PeeCee now barely has the time to adjust her dates.

You cannot go in there thinking ki mai toh superstar hoon, ab mujhe waise treat karo (I am a superstar, so treat me accordingly). It cannot be like that,” said the Barfi! actor in a recent television interview.

So in the interview, when Priyanka said that just like any other person, she too was not perfect, we just nailed it. The actor took to Twitter to vent out his anger against speculations that he has teamed up with Piggs Chops for Farah Khan’s Happy New Year

Shahrukh Khan has been losing his cool quite a bit off late. While sometimes it is on the cricket pitch, at other times he lets himself loose on Twitter. Yesterday, irritated by reports that he has roped in Priyanka Chopra to play the lead role in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year, SRK tweeted, “When a persons words & body language r in conflict they r usually lying. A lot like the headline words of tabloids & their body of content..” (sic) He also said, “Most of the time ppl dont want to get to know u, instead they want to tell u, who they think u are. Let them maintain their fictions about u” (sic)

And not only that, his friend Farah Khan is mighty upset too. The director wanted to announce the leading lady in January with much fanfare; however the wildfire-like speculations have kind of doused that, if at all Shahrukh and Farah had any idea of casting Priyanka in the film. Farah said on Twitter, “Everymorning I get up n read some made up crap about HNY..whn the ‘journos’ hav decided who our leading lady will be kindly inform us too!” (sic)

Well, it’s good that the angry pathan is ranting only on Twitter. Because we all know, when SRK decides to go footloose, it ain’t a pretty sight.

Celebs were dressed to kill at the Big Star Entertainment Awards 2012. But very few really got it right, style-wise!

Priyanka Chopra looked like a diva in every sense of the word. The shocking pink gown with a cross-back and a flowing train made Piggy Chops the cynosure of all eyes at the Big Star Entertainment Awards held on Sunday night. The gold box clutch complemented her glamorous gown perfectly. And the one babe whose style statement was diametrically opposite to Chopra’s safe and stylish choice was Deepika Padukone. And so, you might see Piggy Chops giving interviewers from other countries a sneak peek into her life by talking about her life as a Bollywood actor; the latest one being Lee Hawkins from The Wall Street Journal.

But while PeeCee happily spoke about how she juggles her innumerable commitments, she took on a very heavy accent. And after listening to it for a while, a teeny-weeny voice in our mind begged her to stop. And as if on cue, Priyanka switched on to her natural Indian accent, only to go back to the phoren tones a moment later. Sigh!

Even so, we can’t really complain, not after seeing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (in an interview with Sir David Frost and Oprah Winfrey) go the same way. So we grit our teeth and accept the accented reality.

Priyanka Chopra, who was until now purportedly in the Shahrukh Khan camp, has changed loyalties it seems. The sassy babe who was in Dubai to perform at an awards event, bonded bigtime with Salman Khan. The two were staying at the same hotel, and according to onlookers, both the stars were more than cordial and later, praised each other openly during the press conference. Salman even claimed that he is Priyanka’s favourite co-star off late.

The pair, who had a major fall out after Priyanka refused to do Sohail Khan’s Main Aur Mrs Khanna, were seen passing notes to each other with Sallu making artistic faces and Piggy Chops sketching random doodles. And later, while the duo had to rehearse for the show, they were locked in Salman’s hotel suite discussing plans to star together in a movie. Apparently Salman even called a friend in Mumbai and said, “Chal abhi woh picture banate hain (come now let’s make that movie).” We hear Salman is promoting Priyanka big time, and is also keen that she star opposite him in Sohail’s Sher Khan.

Well, seems like the Shahrukh Khan episode has made Priyanka rethink on her priorities and so-called industry friends. Wink wink!

The RA.One villain will celebrate his 40th birthday in Marrakech. Though the much-talked about party will be attended by many A-list stars, Arjun’s ex-BFF Shahrukh Khan is not even invited!

Arjun Rampal will be celebrating his 40th birthday on November 26. The model-turned-actor has a surprise (uh-oh, he knows already!) party waiting for him in Marrakech, thanks to wifey Mehr Jessia. But more than the starry birthday bash in the Moroccan city, what has caught our immediate attention is the fact that Shahrukh Khan is not on the guest list, even though his biwi Gauri Khan is!

A little birdie tells us that SRK is trying to make it seem as if all is well between him and Arjun. It may also appear that King Khan’s choc-a-bloc calendar is the reason for his absence at the do. But we learn that though the superstar Khan is scheduled to visit the Marrakech Film Festival and be hosted by royalty, he has decided to give Rampal’s birthday a miss.

SRK and Arjun’s once-friendly relationship reportedly went sour when Arjun tried to advise Shahrukh to stay away from Priyanka Chopra, sometime last year when the Don 2 stars were rumoured to have become rather too close for marital comfort. Mrs Khan even shared her concern with Arjun’s wife Mehr, who then requested her hubby Arjun to warn SRK about the possible consequences of his closeness to Piggy Chops. This episode, we hear, did not go down well with the King Khan. The cracks in the relationship started showing when Arjun and Shahrukh started avoiding each other at various events.

And now we know that though Mehr has invited her best friend Gauri for Arjun’s birthday celebrations, SRK is not on the list! All eyes will now be glued to who makes it to Arjun’s party and who chooses to give it a miss. Friends of the two stars will now be divided by loyalty. Our buddy the birdie also informs us that though Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne are attending the birthday do, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have decided to stay away from the controversial affair.

We think the only person who can step in to this rather awkward situation and play mediator to get the two warring stars together is Karan Johar. KJo, in our opinion, should invite the two actors on his famous talk show and get the issue resolved. After all, Rampal needs SRK to get his much-deserving movie roles and awards, no?

The sizzling sirens have also sung for the advertisements they featured in for the famous cola brand. And now our very own desi girl aka Priyanka Chopra, we hear, has been signed on to write, compose and sing for an international cola company.It is not clear yet which brand PeeCee will endorse. It is being speculated that the Chopra babe will support Pepsi – this is likely, since she has appeared in the famous Pepsi ad that has starred Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor years ago. Unfortunately, PeeCee’s ‘over-friendly’ equation with SRK has gone horribly wrong and the Kapoor gal is allergic to PC’s anglicised accent. So they will not figure with the Barfi! babe, of course.

Never mind, Priyanka, just ignore all that rubbish. We are all waiting to watch you go solo this time around with your own music spicing up the much-speculated-about commercial. We know that you can create a sensation like no other with your sexy moves and will outperform a certain Ms Carey and that lady called Beyonce.

So what if SRK is not by your side any more! You can always get your 3 am friend Salman Khan on board, no? With bhai’s Midas touch, your commercial will fetch at least Rs 100 crore, we are super-confident!
