Actor-director Dinesh Thakur passes away
Veteran Bollywood, television and theatre actor and director Dinesh Thakur breathed his last today (September 20) in a Mumbai hospital. He was 65. Thakur had been ailing with kidney problems for a while and had little money to cover his medical expenses.
The veteran made his Bollywood debut with Gulzar’s Mere Apne in 1971. After working in Basu Bhattacharya’s Anubhav in the same year, he bagged a major role in Basu Chatterjee’s Filmfare Award-winning movie Rajinigandha (1974) and went on to act in several films including Kalicharan (1976), The Burning Train (1980) and the more recent Fiza (2000). He also wrote films and won a Filmfare Best Story Award for Ghar (1978). Click here to read more
