AGNEEPATH Quick Movie Review: All hail, Hrithik Roshan!
Our reviewer isn’t very impressed with the first half of the Agneepath‘s remake
Ever since the first trailer of Agneepath was released, all of us have had high expectations from it. Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Karan Johar made a killer combination, we thought. But it seems that unlike the trailer, the film has failed to deliver. Click here to read more
Is Priyanka Chopra really on B-town’s blacklist?
Looking at the way her career is progressing, we wonder…
Stories about the Agneepath heroine abound and in all of them she is cast as the villain of the piece. It all started when Priyanka Chopra made it more than obvious that she had a huge ‘thing’ – we hesitate to call it a ‘crush’ – about Shahrukh Khan. She burbled and blushed happily on the couch with Shahid Kapoor when Karan Johar asked her about SRK, she tweeted and tittered on the micro-blogging site about Don 2 and everything Shahrukh and she had gone through on the shoots. And the admiration was endless. The two bonded visibly during the promotions for the film and just when we were starting to feel a trifle nauseous at her fawning over him to the extent of being seen as a silly little bimbo, life stepped in. Why is Priyanka Chopra doing short and sweet roles?
Despite the multifaceted actor’s talent and current status, she is relegated to roles that are stereotypical parts – playing the protagonist’s love interest and adding glamour
In Don 2, Priyanka Chopra played a crucial role of a cop and also harboured a soft corner for her criminal, but it was limited, considering her star power and acting prowess. Similarly, in Agneepath she played an ardent lover who provided light moments in the gruesome plot, a fairly trite role that is most offered to female actors in the larger-than-life, masala entertainers. All this makes us wonder why the talented leading lady is doing clichéd and trivial roles. Is it because Saat Khoon Maaf, the film she had pinned great hopes on, was critically acclaimed but didn’t make money for the producers and distributors?Click here to read more
Hrithik Roshan’s sister reveals key ‘Agneepath’ twist!
No it is not Sunaina Roshan we are talking about. We mean his onscreen sister, Kanika Tiwri. She is the cousin of Banoo Main Teri Dulhan actor Divyanka Tripathi. Now Divyanka is yet to make it in Bollywood, but her 15-year-old cousin has already taken the first step, that too with a Karan Johar production. Kanika, a teenager from Kolkata, was chosen out of 6,500 aspirants to play Hrithik Roshan’s sister in his upcoming film, Agneepath. She has almost 60 minutes of screen time and shares it with Hrithik, Priyanka Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and Zarina Wahab. The young girl told IANS that she had done a few plays and other cultural activities in school, but this is her first exposure to Bollywood. No wonder then that in her excitement, she revealed a key plot twist. She said, “Rishi Kapoor is the one who kidnaps me in the movie.” Oops. We don’t think that is something KJo would have liked us to know at this point of time.
