You know all about how Salman Khan has been instrumental in making Katrina Kaif who she is…career-wise, of course! And both you and we have seen how he has helped starlets like Zarine Khan and Mahek Chahal, Sneha Ullal and Hazel Keech, none of whom have managed to reach even starlet status. He has also been the catalyst for some of the best hot-bods in B-town, from Hrithik Roshan to the young Arjun Kapoor, Boney’s son, to get into superb shape. And now we hear he is going one step further in the name of friendship – our buddy the birdie told us that he has asked his Bodyguard director, Siddique, to take on Aamir Khan in his next. Siddique did want to work with Salman again, but apparently the script would be better suited to the Ghajini guy, the Dabangg dude felt. And he was even willing to speak to the actor if the director wanted him to, the buzz insisted. None of this is substantiated; in fact, Siddique says that he has to finish working on the script before he thinks of casting anyone, so we wait to find out more. Of course, all this makes us wonder: are Salman and Aamir on the same side because they are friends and so on and so forth, or are they bonded against a certain superstar actor who recently made a rather unfortunately unsuccessful film starring himself wearing a funny rubber bodysuit? Wonder what Shahrukh Khan says to this one!

And along the way, we thought of something we had forgotten about. In the Bollywoodlife poll on which male star has the best butt, we left out Salman Khan. You may think it was because we plain forgot, but we had logic on our side in this decision. You see, if we had included Salman, he would have won not because he does have the best rear-view, oh no! He would have walked off with the honours – probably tucked into theback pocket of his jeans – because he has such a huge fan base, a lot of which looks at any story on Salman Khan on our site. And that would be a definite bias that would skew the results of any poll. No?

When Mahek Chahal was on stage during the grand finale of Bigg Boss 5 and her boyfriend Danish Khan ‘unexpectedly’ proposed to her, she was not the only one who was surprised. We were too. Okay, so we know Mahek was not single but you will agree that this marriage proposal came out of nowhere on what was the biggest night of the professional life for her fellow housemate Juhi Parmar. Just when we were wondering if it was an attempt to steal Juhi’s limelight, Mahek followed it up with another statement a few days after the finale. She told an interviewer that she is in no hurry to get married. Danish is based in Norway and Mahek wants to do some more work here before she settles down with him abroad.

If that is the case, then what was the reason behind this public proposal? Well, that’s when it hit us. Ever since Mahek Chahal entered Bigg Boss 5, there have been rumours about her special friendship with the host of the show Salman Khan. The buzz was that she managed to enter the show and stay in the house for more than two months without being eliminated only because of Salman. Of course, she refuted all such claims when she was eliminated, but when she got back into the house as the wild card entry and managed to reach the finale, those rumours got even louder. Wethinks the public proposal was meant to distract the gossipmongers and shift their attention from the Mahek-Salman linkup to Mahek’s relationship with Danish. We think she will need to sustain her efforts for a longer time if she really wants people to stop talking about her friendship with Sallu. What do you say?

It’s final. Mahek Chahal will reenter Bigg Boss 5 on a wild card. The starlet had been evicted on December 10, much to the surprise of viewers and her fellow housemate Siddharth Bhardwaj. It had been rumoured that Mahek was selected as one of the contestants on the behest of the show’s host Salman Khan and it was thanks to his support that she managed to stay in the house for as long as she did. However, after she got evicted, Mahek claimed to all and sundry that there was no favouritism going on. “It is not right to say that Salman has been favouring me. I share a very nice relationship with him but that doesn’t mean he is biased towards me,” she had claimed. With her reentry into the house, the buzz has started doing the rounds again. Maybe Salman did suggest she be chosen over the other possible – Lakshmi Tripathi and Shonali Nagrani – or maybe he did not. What we do know is that our readers are going to be very happy with Mahek’s return. We’ve received a whole lot of comments about how they wish Mahek was brought back. They called her gutsy, bold and beautiful, and said that she is the only one who showcased her true self on the show. They sent prayers in the hope that she will win and even went to the extent of saying that if Mahek did not reenter as wild card, they will never watch Bigg Boss again. The theme was the same – Mahek, and not Juhi Parmar, deserves to win. Is Bigg Boss listening?

Mahek Chahal is the latest housemate to be thrown out of Bigg Boss 5. She had several ugly fights on the show but she managed to stay on the show for a long time. The buzz was that she got special treatment as she is a close friend of the show’s host Salman Khan. However, Mahek denied this totally. “It is not right to say that Salman has been favouring me. I share a very nice relationship with him but that doesnt mean he is biased towards me,” Mahek told IANS after being voted out of the show.

She also added that fellow housemate Sky was responsible for their fights. “There has to be some respect for each other and he never once realised that he is talking to a woman. I was appalled, doesn’t he have any self respect? He needs to learn to be affectionate towards people,” she said. “I was waiting for him to come and say sorry, but not even once did he try to come forward and say, ‘What I did was wrong and I am sorry’. She is now rooting for Siddharth Bhardwaj to win the show. “I want people to open their eyes and see the potential that Siddharth Bharadwaj has. He is a young blood and may not have the experience like the other inmates. But he has all the qualities of a winner. I wish Siddharth wins.” Though she didn’t win, Mahek says enjoyed her stint. “The two months that I have spent in the house have been the most important months of my life. It has been an experience of a lifetime. I have realised the importance of things that we usually take for granted,” she said. “I have realised the importance of relationships. Fights and arguments are an inevitable part of life, but one should not stretch it and(should) forgive each other as soon as possible. Be happy and move on,” she added.  “I am not scared of anything now. I have learned to stand up for what is right and speak the truth,” she said.

Salman Khan is one of the most popular celebs on micro-blogging site Twitter with more than a million followers. His updates were funny and cheeky even when, like all other celebs, he used it to plug his own and his friends’ films. While it seemed like he had taken a sabbatical from social networking, after he left for his surgery in August, it was not the case. Apparently, the Bodyguard actor had forgotten the password to his account because of which he was not been able to post any updates. His fans have been constantly sending him ‘come back soon’ and ‘get well soon’ messages and their prayers have finally been answered. Announcing his comeback, Sallu tweeted, “Oye teri ! Pass word yaad aah gaya.” (Oh, I just remembered my password.) He followed it up with another update, in his trademark funny style, explaining how he finally remembered his password, “Kal rath ko badaam khaya na aur subah ko bhi.” (I ate almonds last night and this morning too). We are glad that Salman is finally back and now his fans can heave a collective sigh of relief. We just hope he resets his password to something else which he can’t forget easily.
