CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI movie review: Loud, slapstick humour

But the film is spunky and the lead pair of Tusshar Kapoor and Kulraj Randhawa is entertaining

Don’t ask who’s who, what’s what, and why things happen here. And your life will be much easier while watching this utterly scrambled comedy. A homage to those magnificent maestros of mirth David Dhawan, Anees Bazmi and Rohit Shetty, Chaar Din Ki Chandni (CDKC) takes the theme of outrageous festivity to a new high. Characters, all 27-28 of them, are either screaming, guffawing, burping or performing one or the other bodily functions that we are squeamish about when not watching a boorish comedy. Tusshar Kapoor turns co-producer for money

Yogen Shah

Tusshar Kapoor, who is still struggling to make a mark in Bollywood, is now following sister Ekta Kapoor’s footsteps – he has turned co-producer with Chaar Din Ki Chandni and says it’s all for money

“I have turned co-producer just for the greed for money as I am not being paid too much for the film. It’s a solo and it’s a huge discount for me as an actor. Sushant Singh: Rajinikanth is beyond everybody

A specialist in character roles, Sushant Singh talks about how Durga Narayan Chaudhary (Jungle) and Pakiya (Satya) are as important and impactful as any larger-than-life mainstream hero

Having spent almost a decade in the film industry, Sushant Singh – the actor who came into the limelight after playing a vile villain in Ram Gopal Varma’s Jungle – is pretty clear about his position. Emphasising the fact that character roles are as important as main leads, the actor believes that a movie is incomplete and lusterless without strong and well-etched-out characters. Singh may not be in the topmost league or part of the starry clique, but after talking to him you realise that he’s more than content this way, ‘coz it’s not the Kapoors and Kumars who inspire him. He instead draws motivation from people like Om Puri and Naseerudin Shah – the kings of parallel cinema. We get into a freewheeling chat with Singh, who will soon make an appearance in Samir Karnik’s Chaar Din Ki Chandni, and get to know more about the actor… Click here to read more

CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI trailer: Tusshar Kapoor in a double role?

The Yamla Pagla Deewana director is back with another brainless slapstick comedy

It seems that Samir Karnik has found his comfort in the David Dhawan zone of cinema. His forthcoming film, Tusshar Kapoor-Kulraj Randhawa-starrer, Chaar Din Ki Chandni, comes across as one such film. It has the usual suspects (Anupam Kher and Om Puri) that are seen in such films and some unusual ones (Mukul Dev, Sushant Singh and Chandrachur Singh).
