    Hrithik Roshan beats Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan as his film earns Rs 23 crore on the first day
    Karan Johar’s Agneepath has grossed approximately Rs 23 crore on its opening day, beating the record for the biggest opening collections previously set by Salman Khan with Bodyguard.     ‘Bodyguard’ breaks ‘Ready’ record!

    Salman Khan has broken his own record – by becoming the largest-ever digital release on UFO Moviez, a satellite delivered digital cinema platform. While his film Ready was screened in a record 943 UFO Moviez digital theatres in its first week (June 3, 2011) and in a total of 1,108 UFO digital theatres till date, Salman’s Bodyguard will be screened in 1,300 UFO digital theatres. Dabangg opened to audiences in 881 UFO digital theatres in the first week (September 10, 2010) and has been screened in 1065 UFO digital theatres till date. On September 18, 2009, Wanted was released in 576 UFO digital theatres in its first week and has been screened in 821 UFO digital theatres till date. Salman’s films are thus being screened in an increasingly larger number of digital theatres, with every new release garnering better numbers than the earlier one.

In a recent interview he said, “3 Idiots is the biggest hit of our country and out of the one billion population, roughly 2.5 million people saw it in the theatre, why did the rest not go and see it? I think have an audience, not in large numbers, but they are just enough to ensure that the producer doesn’t make a loss.” Wethinks Kashyap is on the right track and will make Indian cinema proud.
