Salman Khan: I'm doing a romantic film soon

The actor says that action films are taking a toll on him, so he is going back to romantic films

Action films take a toll, says Salman Khan, who is recovering from a facial nerve disorder, and adds disarmingly that a Tiger can’t make excuses like “I am not well” , a reference of course to his action film Ek Tha Tiger. “I am the ‘Tiger’, I can’t make excuses like ‘I am unwell, I can’t do it’,” Salman, who recently underwent treatment for trigeminal neuralgia in the US, said in an exclusive interview. Salman Khan denies any involvement in a Rajinikanth biopic

The irrepressible Salman Khan was at his best at a press conference held recently in London – it happened after his surgery in the United States to treat his trigeminal neuralgia and just before he flew to Dublin to start the shoot of Ek Tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif. When he was told that Hollywood was interested in him and that stars like Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz wanted to do a Bollywood film, he reacted with tongue firmly in cheek and “Kya kah rahe ho (what are you saying)!” And he refuted any rumours of him being part of a biopic on south cinema icon Rajinikanth – Salman insisted the story was merely a story and that there was no truth in it, though he was a huge fan of the Robot star.

Salman Khan recovering after eight-hour surgery

While Bodyguard is busy breaking all kinds of box-office records, Salman Khan is still recovering after his eight-hour long surgery (done to cure his nerve problem that was causing him excruciating pain in his head, jaws and cheeks) at a hospital in Pittsburg. Brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri was quick to give him the good news that his Bodyguard had already become a huge blockbuster. But the actor is wondering if it’s just an attempt to cheer him up. Agnihotri said in an interview to an agency, “He is not totally convinced. He is thinking that we are saying this to cheer him up. This is because he is totally cut off from his regular sources. If he had been in Mumbai, he would have had more interaction, seen more TV and read editorials. There he is totally depending on what we are saying.” Sallu bhai, we hope you recover quickly, and come back to India soon to see the euphoria with your own eyes!

Salman Khan doing well after surgery, will be back to work in two weeks

Bodyguard is doing phenomenally well at the BO, but its lead star Salman Khan is not here to see it. He was operated on by surgeons in Los Angeles on August 31 – the surgery took five hours – and is now in recovery. The operation was a complete success. Doctors have said he needs complete rest for at least two weeks, after which he can get back to work. Salman was suffering from trigeminal neuralgia, which caused intense pain in his face and head, a condition that started in 2007 when he was shooting for Partner. Since then, the pain has flashed in and out of his life. With the surgery done, Sallu bhai should be back to his ebullient self very soon. We wish him all the best…

Katrina and Kareena worry about Salman

One may be an ex-girlfriend, the other is a present co-star, but both Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor are concerned about friend/co-star Salman Khan

Bodyguard is making a lot of noise all over the country, with BO registers ringing up profits like mad, never mind that the critics are panning the film – but the hero is not here to experience the high. Salman Khan has left for the United States, to get his trigeminal neuralgia treated by experts. And his lady friends are a little sad about his absence, though they are understandably worried.
