Imran Khan says no to ‘2 States’

Imran Khan has opted out of the film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel 2 States. From what we hear, the actor didn’t have the required dates for the shoot. Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar, who are producing the adaptation, wanted to shoot this November, but Imran had already given those dates to Tigmanshu Dhulia. Imran was keen to do the film and had even read the book, and the plan was that the film will go on floors next year. But when the decision to shoot 2 States from November this year was taken, Imran was forced to opt out. He will also be promoting his Vishal Bhardwaj film Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola in November and there’s no way he can accommodate three films at the same time. You may recall that Imran stepped in to 2 States when Shahrukh Khan opted out. The producers were actually in the process of finalising a heroine opposite Imran, but now they have to begin their hunt for a hero once again. Who do you think would be the right choice to play the male lead in 2 States?

Will Shahrukh Khan make a good Hamlet?

Yogen Shah

King Khan is truly the king when it comes to conveying negative emotions like hate, jealousy and revenge. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons we think he could do complete justice to the role of the prince of Denmark, Hamlet

The actor is apparently a huge fan of director Vishal Bhardwaj and he loved the way the director used all the actors in the movie. The news that’s doing the rounds of B-town lately is that SRK is giving serious thought to working in Vishal’s Bollywood adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
