Rani Mukerji’s brother Raja Mukerkji’s cellphone being checked by cops
Rani Mukerji’s brother and director/producer Raja Mukerji’s troubles are far from over. After he was released on bail on Monday (October 15) over allegations of molestation made by television actor Priya Mishra, the Mumbai police are now gathering more evidence against him. Reportedly, his cellphone is being checked to search for messages that he sent to Priya.
According to the police, Priya told them in her complaint that Raja had sent her text messages from his phone, apologising for his behaviour after he tried allegedly molested the actor in his car. It was reported that Raja met Priya at a local coffee shop on Sunday after which he took her in his car to a deserted spot in a nearby area and tried to take advantage of her even as she was narrating a script to him. After she turned down his advances and left, Raja apparently messaged Priya several times apologising for the indecent behaviour. Rani Mukerji’s brother Raja Mukerji gets bail in molestation case
Rani Mukerji‘s brother, small-time producer/director Raja Mukerji was granted bail by the Versova police on Monday, October 15, 2012. He was arrested on Sunday on charges of molesting TV actor Priya Mishra. The 39-year-old was left on a surety of Rs 10,000 after being charged under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code that deals with sexual offence.
Raja was booked on Sunday night after the TV actor/screenwriter Mishra complained to the police that Raja had tried to molest her on Sunday evening. Reportedly, Raja had invited Priya to narrate a script to him in which she wanted Rani to play the main lead. Raja insisted that Priya and he travel in his car to the venue where she was to narrate the script to him, and allegedly molested her in the vehicle. Priya filed the complaint at the Versova police station later in the night after which Raja was arrested. Rani, who is known to be quite close to her brother, has not said anything about the incident until now. Meanwhile, Raja’s medical tests have been done, and now the director will have to deal with the matter in court. Click here to read more

While sister Rani Mukerji basks in the sunshine of her latest movie release Aiyyaa, her elder brother Raja Mukherjee has been arrested by the Versova police on Sunday night after a small-time television actor alleged that Raja tried to molest her. The 39-year-old director/producer Raja was reportedly approached by the actor for a script narration, as she wanted to cast Rani in the lead. According to the starlet’s complaint, Raja agreed to hear the script, and en route his office tried to molest her in his car. She filed a complaint against Raja and he was hauled in by the police and taken for medical tests, after which a case was registered against him under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code that deals with “assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty”. Until now there has been no word from Rani or her family, but keep watching this space for more updates.

Shootout at Wadala: Sanjay Gupta denied anticipatory bail
A Mumbai sessions court Monday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of filmmaker Sanjay Gupta who was booked for sending out invites for his movie’s event on a letterhead resembling that of the city police chief, police said. “Gupta’s anticipatory bail plea has been rejected by the sessions court today (Monday). We had opposed the plea as his explanation for the same was not satisfactory,” said Senior Police Inspector Nandkumar Mehtar of northwest Mumbai’s Versova Police Station where a first information report (FIR) against Gupta was registered. Police questioned Gupta for nearly two hours Sunday. “Gupta did not cooperate with us during the investigation. He kept misleading us,” Mehtar said.
Gupta last month sent out invites for the promotion of his upcoming film Shootout at Wadala on a letterhead that resembled that of Mumbai’s police commissioner. An FIR was registered against Gupta February 29 and he was booked under several non-bailable sections. Police had issued summons to Gupta, asking him to present himself to explain his case or face arrest Friday. Gupta approached the court Saturday for anticipatory bail.Click here to read more
Sanjay Gupta booked for forgery for ‘Shootout At Wadala’ invite
A case of cheating and forgery has been registered against filmmaker Sanjay Gupta for sending out invites on a letterhead resembling that of the Mumbai police commissioner. “We have registered an FIR (first information report) against Gupta for sending out invites for the promotion of his film Shootout at Wadala on a letterhead resembling that of the Mumbai police commissioner,” said Nandkumar Mhetar, a senior police inspector at Versova police station. “We have sent the summons to his office and asked him to come to the police station and answer our questions. We are awaiting his response,” he added.
Gupta, who has made films like Kaante, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Zinda has been booked for cheating and forgery. He was unavailable for comments despite repeated attempts.Click here to read more
