    John Abraham will play Manya Surve in Shootout At Wadala. We wonder if he’ll be able to do a good job

    John Abraham is known more for his beefcake bod than his acting chops. The main reason why filmmakers cast him is, his infectious smile and his physique which makes for perfect eye candy material. We understand that John likes being cast in hatke films, as we’ve seen him in Deepa Mehta’s Water and Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking, but this time it is different. In Water, John didn’t have to speak much as it was actor Lisa Ray’s film all through and in No Smoking he was playing the role of an urban arrogant corporate honcho. Click here to read more

    For John Abraham, script comes first


    In a star-driven industry, it comes as a surprise when an actor acknowledges the importance of a script
    The Desi Boyz actor seems to be growing and though most of his films are masala entertainers, he apparently wants to be a part of films which have more substance.  John has been a part of two such films – Deepa Mehta’s Water and Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking – but both these films didn’t do well at the BO.     The Desi Boyz actor seems to be very serious about his first film as a producer
    Though John Abraham is popular for his action and comedy films, he comes across as someone very passionate about all aspects of filmmaking. His foray into serious films like Deepa Mehta’s Water and Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking didn’t earn him any brownie points but that hasn’t turned him off from such ventures. While most of the folks in B-town flag off their production houses to salvage their doomed careers and give themselves roles, John has other ideas. Click here to read more
