Veteran actor AK Hangal critical
98-year-old AK Hangal is currently admitted to Asha Parekh Hospital and reported to be in a critical condition. A few weeks ago the veteran actor – recently he appeared in the popular television serial show Madhubala – had fallen in his bathroom and suffered a hip fracture, but he was put on medicines at home. However, his health deteriorated so he was shifted to the hospital two days ago. Hangal’s doctors revealed that as he had severe chest complications he is on oxygen support in the ICU currently. But that’s not all. The 98-year-old actor has been suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis, chronic kidney diseases and hypertension and was soon to be operated for it, but now the treatment is put on hold. Hangal’s family’s at his side and certain that the veteran actor, who participated in India’s freedom struggle, will fight through the health crisis and emerge a winner.

43rd International Film festival of India (IFFI): Indian Panorama section to screen 47 films
As many as 47 films will be screened in the Indian Panorama section at the 43rd International Film festival of India (IFFI), which will be held in Goa in November 20-30, 2012. A spokesperson for the IFFI said that the Indian Panorama section, one of the major screening schedules for the film festival, which attracted over 8,000 delegates last year, would contain 26 feature films and 21 non feature films. “We are inviting entries for the Indian Panorama section 2012 for films certified by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012,” the spokesperson said.

Rozlyn Khan questioned by the cops
Aspiring Bollywood actor Rozlyn Khan was recently interrogated the police regarding an unidentified skull that was recovered following criminal Vijay Palande’s arrest. It seems the DNA samples recovered from aspiring producer Karan Kakkar’s house matched the skull and hence the police are suspecting his involvement in the murder. The case is a difficult one to crack as Kakkar is no more, which is why the investigators are questioning everyone who knew Kakkar personally. And Since Rozlyn has been friends with Kakkar, she was summoned by the investigators to get more clarity on the case. So while Khan has been very cooperative and has shared all the details with the police, she has also been called for recording her statement sometime this week.

Kangna Ranaut meets with an accident in Paris
While trying to show off her nearly perfected action moves for her upcoming superhero flick Krrish 3, Kangna Ranaut fell flat on her face right in the middle of a street in Paris. The accident left Kangs with elbows and knees injuries.

Katrina Kaif was suffering from flu and not food poisoning!
The tigress of Ek Tha Tiger was not seen beside Salman Khan and Kabir Khan at the film’s promotions in Delhi. And soon reports started doing the rounds that Katrina Kaif had tummy troubles from the previous night’s outing with her girlie gang (Alvira Agnihotri, Arpita Khan and Mini Mathur) to Mumbai’s famous khau galli Mohammed Ali Road. They had gone there to satisfy their midnight cravings for yummy food. But surprisingly before Kat’s sensitive stomach became ‘breaking news’ of the day, she got in action to separate the chaff from the wheat. Her spokesperson clarified: “Katrina was ill, suffering from a bad flu and not food poisoning as reported by a popular publication. She has never been the kind to skip any of her professional commitments and has never let health get in the way”. So we guess the kebabs and malpuas aren’t the reason for Kat’s illness! Our birdie the buddy informs us that the Ek Tha Tiger’s leading lady will continue her gastronomical trips to the foodie’s paradise called Mohammed Ali Road.

Shatrughan Sinha discharged from hospital
Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, who was admitted at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital last month, was finally discharged Sunday evening and left for home with his wife Poonam Sinha. The 66-year-old was admitted to the hospital in suburban Andheri on July 2 after he complained of breathlessness following some paint work at his residence. During investigation, blockages were discovered in his coronary arteries and based on medical advice, he underwent surgery. Click here to read more
‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ case: FIR lodged at Bandra police station
A complaint was registered on Wednesday, August 8 against the producer, director and actors of Hindi film Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum for hurting religious sentiments, police said. Complainant Joseph Dias said that some scenes and dialogues of the film hurt sentiments of Christians and made a mockery of priests. “The priest is shown in a poor light and hence the film has made a mockery of the Christian sacrament of marriage and the faith. It is a misrepresentation of priests and the community. The dialogues with double meaning are unprintable,” said Dias, general secretary of the Catholic-Christian Secular Forum. Popular comedian Kannaiah is no more
Veteran Tamil film comedian ‘Ennatha’ Kannaiah passed away in Chennai on Tuesday. In a career spanning six decades, he had acted with many generations of actors, from yesteryear to the present era. Kannaiah got the prefix ‘Ennatha’ after he started almost every dialogue of his with ‘Ennatha’ (meaning whatever) in some of his initial movies. He started his acting career with Ezhai Padum Paadu in 1950 and followed it up with films like Moondrezhuthu, Naan and Nam Naadu, among others. In the recent flick Thottal Poo Malarum, his dialogue “Varum aana varadhu” became popular with the masses, that it was uttered by a legislator in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. Film personalities have been paying homage to Kannaiah. His body will be cremated later today.
