The actor has been unceremoniously replaced after she decided to join Colors’ reality show

Giaa Manek is ready to show her jhalak (glimpse) as a dancer, but is she ready to bow out as Gopi bahu? She’ll have to be, as she has been replaced on Saath Nibhana Saathiya. Star Plus head honchos found out much to their chagrin that Giaa is not as docile as her onscreen persona is. When she was offered a chance to be a part of Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 5 on Colors, she gladly took it up, even though it meant a breach of contract with Star Plus. We wonder, though, was it worth it? Even if Giaa manages to reach the finals of JDJ – which is not very likely, we think – she’ll be out of work again when the show ends in 12 weeks. Surely Saathiya will continue for longer than that? We can only guess that Giaa was bored after playing the docile housewife for two years. Hopefully her fans will be happy to watch her dance and vote her to the finals.

We’ve also heard that Devoleena Bhattacharjee is most likely to replace Giaa. ‘Who is she?’ Do you remember a drama on Imagine TV called Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto? She was Bano, the young college student who gets embroiled in illegal activities. If Devoleena does join Saathiya as Gopi, it will be a reunion of sorts for her and Iira Soni. Iira, who played Bano’s sister Ishmeet, has already entered Saathiya as Gopi’s husband Ahem’s ex-girlfriend Anita. After playing loving sisters,they will now play antagonists. Won’t that be interesting to watch?
