The cast and crew of Zee TV’s new show have flown to the British capital for an exciting schedule during the Olympics

You may have shows set abroad (Pavitra Rishta in Canada) but they are almost always shot in aamchi Mumbai. The maximum you may get to see is when a CID team goes to France or Bade Acche Lagte Hain showcases Australia for a few episodes. When we heard that Zee TV’s new show Rab Se Sona Isshq will have a London track, we yawned. But we sat up when the biggies at Zee revealed that the show will actually be shot in the British capital. That too during the 2012 Olympics!

Rab Se’s primary cast members include Ashish Sharma (of Chandragupta Maurya fame), Kanan Malhotra, Sukirti Kandpal (from Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahani) and newbie Ekta Kaul. And all of them are lucky enough to be in London during the biggest sporting event of the year. Of course they have plans of their own. Ashish says, “I’ve never been to London. We’ve already told the producers we want Fridays off so we can go sightseeing.” He is also hoping to get tickets to a few tennis matches. Sukirti is equally upbeat. “I have family and friends in London so we’ll definitely go visit the Big Ben and other popular spots.” Ekta surprised us with her plans. “I don’t have any plans to go sightseeing. I will be practising and rehearsing. The others are much better actors than I am. I have to practice to reach their level,” said the debutante. Hmmm… Ashish and Sukirti’s answers seem more honest, don’t you think?
