‘Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein’ to go off air

Rajshri Productions’ new love story will replace the thriller

We told you how Aasman Se Aage, which tried to do something different from the cliched family melodramas, has been forced to go off the air. Now we hear that another show which moved away from the been-there-done-that format is also going to wrap up. Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein, a daily thriller, will make way for a love story. Star Plus’ decision makers were unhappy with the viewership statistics for the Shaleen Bhanot-Deblina Chatterjee-Rohit Roy show and decided it should end after just four months. The last episode will air on June 14.

Rajshri Productions’ Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara will replace Sajda. That’s one more love story added to the unending list of romantic sagas currently on air. Fortunately, there is no saas (mother-in-law) or bahu (daughter-in-law) in this soap. That doesn’t stop us from wishing Sajda had not been replaced. It was the only thriller on television that dealt with serious issues. When it first aired, we hoped that it would begin a change in the way channels approach shows. After all, how many reality shows and family dramas can we stomach anyway? We thought we had finally got a break, but the serial’s sad fate has broken our hearts. What about yours?
