Avengers: Infinity War is doing an incredible business all over. It might have failed to beat the opening day numbers of Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($119,119,282) but there are quite a few other records that it has in its belt. The movie is on its way to become the highest opening weekend worldwide, but in order to do that, it will have to beat Fate of the Furious ($541,937,239). Now coming to India, the movie has pretty much everyone talking about it. The movie opened to rave reviews from the critics. It has established many records in the country. Here are 5 of them:
In India, Avengers: Infinity War collected Rs 30.3 crore on Friday, followed by a growth on Saturday when it collected Rs 31.5 crore. The total of the movie stands strong with Rs 61.8 crore.
# Highest occupancy in 2018
Avengers: Infinity War only got 2000 screens in India, yet it garnered a good occupancy. With 80-100 percent occupancy, this film from the franchise has scored better than every Bollywood film that released in 2018. # Highest opening day for a Hollywood film
This record was previously held by 2016's release Furious 7, which was Paul Walker's posthumous release. The movie garnered 12.30 crore on its opening day in 2015. Avengers: Infinity War has minted Rs 31.3 crore at the box office on day 1 in India.
# Highest opening day for of 2018 in India
Well, the movie has not only beaten the opening day record for the previous years but this year, too, there was no worthy contendor against it. The movie has beaten big-budget productions like Padmaavat and highly anticipated ones like Baaghi 2. Deepika Padukone's Padmaavat was at Rs 24 crore on day 1. And Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2 was at Rs 25.10 crore at the end of first Friday.
# 1oth highest opening day of all time in India
The movie beat many Salman Khan and Aamir Khan movies to become the 10th highest opening in Bollywood of all time. The position was previously held by Ajay Devgn and Parineeti Chopra's Golmaal Again with Rs 30.14 crore. Right behind it were movies like Aamir Khan’s Dangal – Rs. 29.78 crore, PK - Rs. 26.63 crore and Salman Khan’s Kick - Rs 27.25 crore, Bajrangi Bhaijaan - Rs 26.40 crore. Avengers Infinity War zoomed past all of these to secure 1oth position.
# Highest opening weekend for a Hollywood film in India
The record was previously held by The Jungle Book with a 3-day total of Rs 40.47 crore. On the other hand, the MCU entry has managed to surpass these numbers with an exceptional difference. In just two days, the movie has managed to get Rs 61.8 crore in India.
# Highest day 2 in 2018
After beating the opening records in 2018, AIW has managed to race ahead in terms of second-day box office collections as well by collecting Rs 61.8 crore (Rs 30.3 crore on Friday and Rs 31.5 crore on Saturday). Padmaavat garnered Rs 56 crore on day 2 in India. Baaghi 2 minted Rs 45.50 crore in two days.
