The film has had an average run at the box office...
Tiger Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez's A Flying Jatt was one of the exciting films of this year, but after a lot of hype around the film, it failed to impress us. A Flying Jatt wasn't what people expected it to be and hence, the film saw a very average start to its box office run. The movie collected just Rs 7.10 crore on Thursday (day 1) even though A Flying Jatt released on a holiday (Janmasthami). Then on Friday (day 2) it saw a drop as it just collected Rs 6 crore. And even though it saw a growth on Saturday and Sunday, the film has underperformed.
On day 3 (Saturday), A Flying Jatt collected Rs 7.35 crore and on day 4 (Sunday), it added another Rs 9 crore to its kitty to take the total tally to Rs 29.45 crore in the first weekend. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh reveals about A Flying Jatt's detailed collections in his tweet, "#AFlyingJatt has underperformed, considering it was an extended 4-day weekend. Biz saw growth on Sat and Sun, but the big jump was missing. #AFlyingJatt Thu 7.10 cr, Fri 6 cr, Sat 7.35 cr, Sun 9 cr. Total: Rs 29.45 cr. India biz. Note: #Baaghi collected Rs 38.58 cr in 3 days."
In fact, with no big release last Friday and ample screen space (Rustom is occupying just 600 and Happy Bhag Jayegi a few hundred out of the approx 5500 screens in India), A Flying Jatt was expected to make about Rs 40 crore at the box office over the weekend.
As our trade expert, Amul Mohan (Editor of Super Cinema) had revealed to us EXCLUSIVELY, "I think it’s a good thing that A Flying Jatt is releasing on Thursday. You get one extra day to work your magic. It is a film which is catering to the kids. It’s a superhero film which kids generally tend to like anyway. I feel the film will open decently. Last few films of Tiger have opened well. I think anything above Rs 9 crore is a good number for them (on day one). Although I don’t know how the buzz is since the music hasn’t really picked up except for this campaign of Beat pe booty which has taken off very well. Let’s see how it goes. Also Remo D’souza is a good director. You never know what he has up his sleeves. So, we are looking at 9 crore on Thursday since Janmashtami is not a big festival and 9 crore again on Friday. Saturday we are expecting some jump say Rs 10 crore and another Rs 11-12 crore on Sunday. So Rs 40 crore is what I am looking at by the end of the first weekend. But having said that, the movie needs to be good too."

And looks like the film hasn't been that great and hence, these average numbers! Anyway, with no film this week, Tiger Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez's A Flying Jatt will have a decent run till this Friday, after which Sonakshi Sinha's Akira will take over.
