Remo D'Souza's dance extravaganza has broken yet another box office record at the domestic turf...
ABCD 2 starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhu Dheva is ruling the box office and how! After becoming the highest opener of this year and recording the biggest opening weekend collection, Remo D'Souza's directorial venture has now beaten the opening week record of Kangana Ranaut's romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns. While Ms Ranaut's film grossed Rs 70.02 crore in its first week, Jr Dhawan and Ms Kapoor starrer has managed to rake in more moolah than that. The dance film has collected Rs 71.78 crore in week 1. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter a while back, "#ABCD2 records HIGHEST *Week 1* biz of 2015 [so far], overtaking *Week 1* biz of #TanuWedsManuReturns [70.02 cr]. India biz. Hindi films."
Trade portal Boxofficeindia reported, "ABCD 2 had the highest first week collection of the year as it grossed 71.75 crore nett aporx. It beat the previous best of Tanu Weds Manu Returns which had grossed 69 crore nett. The film did start to fall midweek but still the week is very good due to the strong opening."
The website further stated, "The film has an open window in front of it and should hit 100 crore nett in it's third weekend and go on to business of 110 crore nett plus."
Well, if ABCD 2 continues to break records at the this pace then I am pretty sure in no time it will become the biggest grosser of this year!
