It seems that Abhishek Bachchan's comeback film Manmarziyan failed to grab audience's attention at the box office. Despite receiving positive reviews, the romantic drama had a low opening of Rs 21.40 crore at the ticket windows. The collections are quite surprising as the music was very well received by the audience. Looking at the current scenario, we think Manmarziyan will hardly have any screens since Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Manto have released today.
Apparently filmmaker Karan Johar loved the film and performances of the star cast as he tweeted, "A superbly solid, silent and sensitive portrayal by Abhishek Bachchan! So proud of his work! He is so amazing! Vicky Kaushal is all gusto and glory portraying a manic lover with genius abandon! He has some moments of brilliance in the film! Taapsee Pannu holds the strings of her layered character like an absolute veteran."
Manmarziyan marks the second collaboration between Anurag Kashyap and Vicky Kaushal after Raman Raghav 2.0. The film is produced under the banners of Color Yellow Productions and Eros Now. We hope, Manmarziyan shows some growth in the second weekend so that it can at least cross Rs 30 crore mark at the ticket windows.
