Despite being a non-holiday release, Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor starrer Total Dhamaal enjoyed a phenomenal opening week at the ticket windows. The comic caper raked in Rs 6.50 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand collection of Rs 94.55 crore. With this total, it has turned out to be the second highest opening week grosser of the year after Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy.
Though Gully Boy had an extended week of 8 days, which helped the film to earn strong collections at the box office.
Gully Boy (8 day-week) - Rs 100.30 crore
Total Dhamaal - Rs 94.55 crore
Uri: The Surgical Strike - Rs 71.26 crore
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi - Rs 61.15 crore
Thackeray - Rs 31.60 crore
Total Dhamaal is the third installment of the successful franchise Dhamaal, which originally starred Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi and Riteish Deshmukh alongside Sanjay Dutt. Co-produced by Fox Star Studios, Ajay Devgn Ffilms, Ashok Thakeria, Kumar, Sri Adhikari Brothers, Anand Pandit, Sangeeta Ahir and Kumar Mangat Pathak, the film released on February 22.
