With this kind of response, we are sure that Mission Mangal is now racing towards Rs 30 crore mark on its first day at the ticket windows.
Akshay plays a scientist in "Mission Mangal", which also stars actresses Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen. Talking about the film, Akshay said, "I've told my five heroines that I have produced the film and I don't know whether it will be a hit or a flop, but I can assure this much that they would feel very proud of being a part of this film. It is a good and clean film.".
Mission Mangal is based on the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), or the Mangalyaan project launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in November 2013, to put a space probe in planet Mars' orbit. It jointly-partnered by Pad Man helmer R Balki and is directed by Jagan Shakti. The film is released today and has clashed with John Abraham's Balta House at the ticket windows.
