Despite the release of Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer Kedarnath, Akshay-Rajinikanth's 2.0 continued its dominance at the ticket windows. In fact, on Sunday, the sci-fi venture earned more than Abhishek Kapoor's directorial venture at the box office. Bye the end of its second weekend, the film raked in Rs 166.75 crore in the domestic circuit. By today or tomorrow, 2.0 will surpass the lifetime business of Salman Khan starrer Race 3 to become the third highest grosser of the year after Sanju and Padmaavat.

Karan Johar has presented the Hindi version of 2.0 under his banner Dharma Productions. Apparently, it is the first Indian film, which is entirely shot in 3D. Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film stars Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles.
