Director Meghna Gulzar's Raazi has turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. Apart from the domestic circuit, the period-spy thriller has performed phenomenally well in the international markets as well. Till now, the film has grossed Rs 135.61 crore (nett Rs 104.32 crore) in India and Rs 30 crore at the overseas market. It currently stands with the grand total of Rs 165.61 crore. Since the film has slowed down its pace at the ticket windows, it'll be interesting to see whether it'll enter the Rs 200 crore club or not.
Apart from Meghna Gulzar’s gripping narrative and direction, the audience have also praised the performances of Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat, the film also stars Shishir Sharma, Soni Razdan, Rajit Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat and Amruta Khanvilkar in pivotal roles. It is produced under the banners of Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures. The story of Raazi revolves around a young Kashmiri girl who gets married to a Pakistani Army officer and becomes a spy to give inside information about the neighbouring country to protect her own.
The film marks the first time that Alia has shared screen space with her mother Soni Razdan. Talking about working with her mother, Alia said, “I don’t get enough time to spend with my mother. It gets really difficult for me to take out time for her and I feel really bad about that. With ‘Raazi’, I have managed to get to spend eight days straight with her because I was working with her and she is playing the role of my mother in the film as well. " Anyway, do you this is Alia's best performance till date? Share your thoughts in the comments section below...
