And while we rejoice at the coming together of this real life couple on the big screen after almost a decade, Big B reveals that it makes him nervous. Here’s why...
We last saw Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan play proud parents to Sahahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan in Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001. And now, more than a decade later, the couple will again come together, this time for Deepak Sawant’s Bhojpuri movie Ganga Devi.
But there’s a reason why Big B agreed to do a cameo role in this movie. “I am glad to be part of this film. Deepak is like family and when he approached me for this film, I did it without any hesitation. I know him now for 30 to 35 years,” Amitabh revealed while talking about his make-up man-turned-producer Deepak Sawant.
Also, Big B is of the opinion that Bhojpuri movies do not get the publicity they deserve. “Bhojpuri films - that have limited releases only in the state of Bihar - need all the encouragement... I work for him (Deepak Sawant) and never charge, it's not a monetary matter for me,” Big B says on his blog. And you get a pat on your back for that one, Mr Bachchan!
But what’s this - we are told that AB was really nervous during the shoots! Why so? “When your wife is on the sets with you, then your behaviour also changes, there are lots of restrictions, there is always a discipline on the sets, or else when you go back home, the situation goes out of control,” he candidly reveals. Guess most husbands would agree to that, right? Also, looking at Jayaji lashing out in Parliament, we know that the reason behind Amitji’s bundled up nerves was not... er... very surprising.
What’s more, here are the pics straight from the sets of Ganga Devi that show Amitabh and Jaya performing under the scorching sun. Does AB look nervous in any of them? Take a look and tell us, readers.
