As expected, Russo Bros directed, Avengers: Infinity War is doing exceptionally well in India. The movie has met with a thundering response from the critics and then from the audience as well. The first-day box office collection numbers are out and it certainly is a good opportunity for Bollywood to rethink everything. Avengers: Infinity War's gross box office collection is Rs 40.13 crore and nett collection is Rs 31.3 crore.
With those numbers, Avengers: Infinity War has broken many records on the Indian turf. Not only it has become the highest opening day grosser for a Hollywood film here. But has also made the box office collections of home-produced movies like Dangal, PK, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tubelight, Dilwale, to name a few. It has also smashed the records held by 2018's releases, Padmaava and Baaghi 2. What a feat. No wonder, Bollywood stayed away from clashing with AIW this weekend. Earlier, in our prediction story, talking about the occupancy of the film, trade expert Akshaye Rathi has said, “The response is insane, every single cinema that’s playing it, is anywhere between 90 to 100 percent and it’s only going to get better by the evening. The record for the highest opening for a Hollywood film will be shattered and shattered by a mile. Rs 20 crore day 1 is definite, how far it goes beyond that is something will have to wait till the evening to see.” The film opened with magnificent numbers in the single screens as well. “Everywhere, it has opened like insanity, it’s a complete Tsunami at the box office.”
