Director duo Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity enjoyed a humungous opening week at the box office. In fact, the superhero flick has shattered the records of many Bollywood biggies in 7 days flat. As per the early estimates, the film raked in Rs 9.50 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 156.41 crore. It has now become the second highest opening week grosser of 2018 after Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. Interestingly, the film is all set to beat the Fast and the Furious series to become highest Hollywood grossing franchise in India. The film is released in 2000 screens in India in English, Hindi, Tami and Telugu. Avengers: Infinity War, the 19th Marvel Studios’ movie, will bring together 22 superheroes like Iron Man, Thor and The Hulk against one supervillain Thanos. Unlike the latest installment, the previous two parts were helmed by Joss Whedon. It is the fourth Hollywood film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in India after Furious 7, Jurassic World and The Jungle Book.
Produced by Kevin Feige, the film features the ensemble cast of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
