The action thriller which released last month is pretty close to entering the coveted Rs 100 crore club...
Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey's collaboration has yet again turned out to be successful. After Special Chabbis, the two came together for Baby which released this year on January 23 and since then has been getting cash registers jingling. In fact, it won't be long before it becomes the first film of 2015 to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. We say so because Baby co-starring Anupam Kher, Taapsee Pannu, Rana Dagubbati, Kay Kay Menon and Danny Danzongpa has raked in Rs 89. 14 crore at the domestic box office till now. We are pretty sure these figures will only go up as the film has been running in cinema halls for more than two weeks and its still pulling in crowd.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the BO figures just a while back. He wrote on the popular social networkingsite, "#Baby [Week 3] Fri 1.31 cr, Sat 1.56 cr, Sun 1.87 cr. Grand total - 89.14 cr. India biz. site Twitter."
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan starrer Shamitabh also released last Friday. The R Balki directorial got off to a slow start and the collections picked up on day 2 (Saturday). As of now, the three day total collection of Shamitabh stands at Rs 13.25 crore.
