Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Bharat had a strong extended opening week at the box office. The period drama has raked in Rs 181.25 crore in 9 days and with this total, it has turned out to be the fourth highest grosser of Katrina Kaif by surpassing the business of Bang Bang, which had collected Rs 181.03 crore during its theatrical run. The film will soon surpass the collections of another Salman-Katrina starrer Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 198 crore) to grab the third spot in the list.

Interestingly, Katrina Kaif was not the first choice for the film as we all know, it was after Priyanka Chopra's exit, that Kat came on board for the film. Talking about this, Katrina had told mid-day, "I read the script from start to finish in three hours and immediately called him to tell him that I loved it. I realized there was an opportunity of going the extra mile with this character. So, it had nothing to do with my friendship with Salman or Ali. In fact, Salman did not even call me after I signed the film. We met directly on the set."
Talking about Bharat, it is an official adaption of a Korean film, Ode To My Father. The film showcases Salman Khan in five different avatars from 18 to 72 years. Bharat also stars Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi in key roles.
