Black Panther, Marvel's first black standalone superhero film, has set the box office on fire ever since it released on February 16. The movie has not only raked in the moolah at the American box office; but also at the Indian, UK and other international markets . With that the film is now nearing the $900 million mark at the worldwide box office by the end of day 17. For those of you who don't know, Black Panther has raked in $501.10 million at the American box office at the end of the third weekend. It has collected another $396.60 million in the overseas market. Add both of these and you will realise that the film has accumulated $897.70 million in 17 days at the worldwide box office. Today (day 18, March 05), the Marvel movie will surely breach the nine hundred million dollar barrier and with the film being unstoppable at the ticket window, it should enter the $1 billion club in this week itself.
For those of you who haven't watched the film, let us tell you that Black Panther revolves around the events that take place after T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns to claim the throne of Wakanda, after the death of his father. Though several factions oppose his reign, he is determined to maintain peace and order. But will he able to? Well, you will have to watch the movie to know more about that.
