Kashyap's big budget film has finally touched the Rs 20 crore mark at the box office...
Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan starrer Bombay Velvet has the crossed the Rs 20 crore at the Indian box office. The period film directed by Anurag Kashyap had released last Friday but didn't witness a good opening. In fact, the film couldn't pull in crowd to cinema halls over its first weekend and ended up collecting only Rs 16.10 crore in the first three days. In fact, the film has lost around Rs 90 crore which is indeed a big number. While it won't be long before Bombay Velvet goes out of theatres, for now, the total domestic box office collection of the film stands at Rs 20.97 crore.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the update figures a while back. He wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, "#BombayVelvet Fri 5.20 cr, Sat 5.10 cr, Sun 5.80 cr, Mon 2.10 cr, Tue 1.45 cr, Wed 1.32 cr. Total - 20.97 cr. India biz."
Trade portal Boxofficeindia reported, "The film will just have a one week run in most cinemas and is unlikely to do even 25 crore nett business.."
While RK and Ms Sharma's first outing hasn't packed a solid punch at the box office, all eyes are now on Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns which is hitting screens tomorrow.
