Neeraj Pandey and Akki’s second collaboration has turned out to be a crowd puller. At least that’s what the BO figures suggest…
Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Madhurima Tuli and Danny Danzongpa starrer Baby is slowly inching towards the Rs 100 crore club. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film released on January 23 and got off to a good start. Despite not being a solo release, Akshay starrer has managed to get cash registers jingling and is still faring well at the ticket windows. On the opening day, the film collected Rs 9.3 crore and then went on to earn Rs 11.17 crore on day 2 (Saturday). On day 3 (Sunday) and day 4 (Monday), Baby pulled in crowd to the theaters as well and ended up minting Rs 50.97 crore in first four days. And as of now the total domestic box office collection of Khiladi Kumar’s action thriller stands at Rs 87.27 crore which is indeed impressive.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Baby [Week 3] Fri 1.31 cr, Sat 1.56 cr. Grand total: ₹ 87.27 cr. India biz." The film has been appreciated by everyone. It will be great to see a good film enter the Rs 100 crore mark after a long time.
While Baby is currently ruling at the box office, things couldn't get tough with the release of R Balki’s much-awaited directorial venture Shamitabh starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush, Rekha and Akshara Haasan is hitting the screens. Shamitabh has been doing well but isn't getting that much footfalls. The movie has got mixed reviews and therefor Baby is still ruling the roost at the ticket windows.
