As expected Hollywood's latest outing The Nun has taken a strong opening at the box office and has performed better than two Bollywood releases Paltan and Laila Majnu. The horror film has received a great start in the multiplexes of the metro cities. And since the film has received rave reviews, the footfalls for the film will show a substantial growth in the evening and night shows. The Nun is the prequel of The Conjuring and the goodwill of the later film has definitely helped the film to open well at the box office.
On the other JP Dutta's Paltan has opened around 12 to 15 per cent occupancy in the morning shows. This kind of opening was expected from the war-drama as the buzz was quite average. The film will now be totally dependent on the word of mouth as it'll be interesting to see whether Paltan will be able to repeat a succes like Border or not at the box office. Featuring Sonu Sood, Arjun Rampal, Gurmeet Choudhary and Harshvardhan Rane in pivotal roles the film is based on 1962 Indo-China war.
Coming to Laila Majnu, the romantic drama taken a opening of around 10 per cent and this was on the cards as the film doesn't feature any known faces. Though the film has received positive reviews for its story-telling and performances of its lead cast - Avinash Tiwari and Tripti Dimri. We hope positive word of mouth will help the film to boost its business at the box office. So, which movie you are planning to watch this weekend? Tweet to us to let us know...
