Sidharth beats his Student Of The Year co-star in the box office race yet again!
That Karan Malhotra's latest action drama, Brothers, is a hit goes without saying. The Akshay Kumar - Sidharth Malhotra starrer which was off to a slow start, soon picked up pace as good reviews from critics and audiences and positive word of mouth started to pour in becoming the biggest opener for Akshay. The film has continued it's great performance all through the week bringing in Rs 4.88 crore on day 6 and Rs 4.30 crore on Day 7 bringing the total collection of the film to Rs 72.60 crore at the domestic font.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted teh figures on his Twitter account. "#Brothers Fri 15.20 cr, Sat 21.43 cr, Sun 15.45 cr, Mon 6.23 cr, Tue 5.11 cr, Wed 4.88 cr, Thu 4.30 cr. Total: Rs 72.60 cr. India biz," he tweeted.
This makes Brothers the second highest week-1 earner of 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan which had a monstrous collection of Rs 184.62 crore. Brothers has also left behind Kangana Ranaut's Tanu Weds Manu Returns collection of Rs 70.02 crore and also Varun Dhawan - Shraddha Kapoor's dance flick, ABCD 2, which had brought in a total of Rs 71.78 crore in its first week.
Given that there isn't any major release today, the film is expected to continue its strong march at the box office.
