The Karan Malhotra directorial released on August 14
Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra's latest offering, Brothers, which is an official remake of the hit Hollywood flick, Warrior, has enjoyed a decent run at the box office so far. Despite it's slow start, the film went on to break a few records and became the second highest week-1 earner of 2015 with a brilliant collection of Rs 72.60 crore. However, with All Is Well and Manjhi eating into the collection pie, the second weekend did not prove as lucky for the "brothers" as the first week did. The film earned Rs 1.40 crore on Friday (day 8), Rs 2.00 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.70 crore on Sunday bringing the total collection of the film to Rs 78.70 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Brothers [Week 2] Fri 1.40 cr, Sat 2 cr, Sun 2.70 cr. Total: Rs 78.70 cr. India biz."
Though the film had left Varun Dhawan's ABCD 2 and Kangana Ranaut's Tanu Weds Manu Returns behind in its week-1 collections, it failed to match up with the 10-day collection of both the film- ABCD 2 having earned Rs 85.49 crores and Tanu Weds Manu Returns bringing in Rs 98.37 crores.
With Saif Ali Khan - Katrina Kaif starrer, Phantom releasing next weekend, the collection of this Karan Malhotra directorial is expected to further take a dip.
