The film sees a good growth on the first Sunday at the domestic box office....
Marvel's most anticipated film of the year, Captain America: Civil War, continued its magnificent run at the domestic box office. The superhero film had already earned a gross collection of Rs 24.05 crore (Rs 17.32 crore nett) in two days, but with a fabulous growth on Sunday, the film ended with a gross collection of Rs 37.68 crore (Rs 27.13 crore nett) at the end of the weekend.
The film saw a growth of 10 per cent on Sunday as it earned Rs 9.81 crore (nett) on day 3 (Saturday - Rs 8.79 crore nett). Talking about the collection, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#CaptainAmericaCivilWar Fri 8.53 cr, Sat 8.79 cr, Sun 9.81 cr. Total: Rs 27.13 cr nett. India biz. Gross: Rs 37.68 cr. EXCELLENT!"
And with such a great opening, Captain America: Civil War has already crossed the lifetime collection of Captain America 1 and 2 put together at the Indian box office! This is a HUGE feat and a record in itself! It has also become the third biggest opening weekend for a Hollywood movie in 2016 and the and biggest Marvel opening weekend for Disney in India!
With Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor's Baaghi running well at the box office and films like Sharma Joshi's 1920 London, Sunny Leone's One Night Stand and Manoj Bajpayee's Traffic also releasing along with Captain America: Civil War, the film might have some competition over the first week.
