Filmmaker Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is turning out to be a huge-money spinner at the box office. The multi-starrer Tamil film is earning huge not only in the domestic market but also in the international circuits. Talking about its business in the Tamil Nadu market, it has raked in Rs 21.70 crore in three days and looking at the response, we expect a huge Sunday, which will take its collection over Rs 30 crore.
Featuring the ensemble cast of Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Jyothika, Silambarasan, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh, Dayana Erappa and Aditi Rao Hydari, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Thiagarajan and Mansoor Ali Khan, the film also became the third highest Kollywood opener of the year after Kaala and Seema Raja.
Post the dismal performance of Kaatru Veliyidai, Mani Ratnam has made a comeback with Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and the film is expected to declare as the blockbuster looking at its box office performance at the global market. Apparently, Vijay Sethupathi's next film 96 is releasing on the coming Friday, so it'll be interesting to see the competition between these two ventures.
