Dhruv Vikram's debut film Adithya Varma, which released last Friday at the box office, has turned out to be a money-spinner at the domestic market. The intense love story drama, which is the official remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy got rave reviews from the experts and audience and currently holds the top position at the Chennai box office. It has beaten biggies like Frozen 2, Thalapathy Vijay's Bigil, Vijay Sethupathi's Sanga Thamizhan and Karthi's Kaithi to achieve this feat.
While Kabir Singh (Hindi remake) and Arjun Reddy were also huge blockbusters, they were criticized for being misogynistic and totally violent. Talking about the same, Dhruv earlier told Deccan Chronicle, "I think when you watch the film, you will see the changes we have made. And yes, we have changed quite a bit to avoid such criticism."
Dhruv also revealed that his father was very critical to his work as he told Cinema Express, "If he doesn’t like a particular take, he will call it ‘trash’ right away. He is pretty straight forward when it comes to work, and he can be critical, given his experience in the industry." Well, we are sure that with the phenomenal response of Adithya Varma, Chhiyaan Vikram must be a proud father. So, have you watched the film? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
