After 4 weeks of dominance, Thalapathy Vijay's Bigil and Karthi's Kaithi have finally slowed down at the box office as Vishal and Tamannaah's Action has grabbed the first spot at the Chennai box office this past weekend. The film has received praise across the domestic circuit for its high-octane sequences and breathtaking stunts. Tamannah's avatar in a bodysuit also garnered the audience's attention. Talking about it, the actress told The New Indian Express, "To be honest, when I started, I didn't think I had the body to (wear it)... you need to have a certain body to able to wear a bodysuit. I actually went on a diet and lost weight to wear the costume. I felt like I could not have done it if I was at my normal size."
Vijay Sethupathi's Sanga Thamizhan, which opened on Saturday, took the second position at the Chennai box office. The commercial entertainer also stars Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Pethuraj in key roles. The film was supposed to release on Friday but due to some financial issues, it got delayed to Saturday, with some screens beginning to show it from Friday night. Thalapathy Vijay's Bigil and Karthi's Kaithi grabbed the third and fourth spots, followed by Hollywood biggie Ford Vs Ferrari, featuring Christian Bale and Matt Damon.
Since Dhruv Vikram's Adithya Varma is hitting screens this Friday, we are expecting the film to take a grand opening at the ticket windows. Directed by Gireesaaya, it is the official remake of Vijay Deverakonda's Arjun Reddy and also features Banita Sandhu and Priya Anand in key roles.
