Aamir Khan's Dangal is very close to entering the Rs 100 crore club in the overseas market! If you remember, the film had raked in a very outstanding number on it's opening day itself. Dangal continues to live up to the expectations as it has now reached Rs 94.29 crores in the overseas market. In the domestic market, the film earned Rs 155.53 crore in five days. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh reports, "#Dangal races towards ₹ 100 cr in the international arena... OVERSEAS - Till Tue: $ 13.82 million [₹ 94.29 cr]. Some screens yet to report." The numbers are surely promising as you can see the pace by which the film is inching close to 100 crores is really quick. North America - Rs 40.04 crore
In North America, the cumulative box office reported so far is a staggering USD 5.87 million! Tuesday box office reported is USD 801 K with some screens yet to report!
Gulf - Rs 27.01 crore
The cumulative box office reported so far in Gulf is AED 14.59 million / USD 3.96 million with some screens yet to report! Tuesday box office reported so far is AED 1.46 million or USD 398 K.
United Kingdom - Rs 12.89 crore
In UK, the cumulative box office reported so far is GBP 1.18 million / USD 1.89 million with some locations yet to report. Tuesday GBO reported so far is GBP 254 K / USD 406 K!
Australia - Rs 6.41 crore
Day 5 collections for Dangal in Australia is highest grossing day for any Indian film in the region, including the opening day's collections at AUD 291 K / USD 209 K!! The cumulative box office reported so far is AUD 1.31 / USD 940 K.
In the domestic market, the numbers are just as good. So far the film has surpassed the lifetime collections of Sushant Singh Rajput's MS Dhoni - The Untold Story and Akshay Kumar's Airlift. Khan's wrestling biopic has jumped up to take the second position in the highest grossers of 2016 list. The film has taken over the lifetime collection of MS Dhoni - The Untold Story and Airlift. While Dhoni stands at Rs 133.04 crore, Airlift earned Rs 128.10 crore. While the film continues to win hearts, it still hasn't been able to beat Salman Khan's Sultan collections. It's time for us to wait and watch how Dangal performs and whether it can surpass Sultan.
