After struggling on Monday, the box office collection of Sushant starrer dipped further on Tuesday...
Despite garnering rave reviews from the critics, Dibakar Banerjee's latest directorial venture Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! hasn't managed to get cash registers jingling as expected. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead, the film released last week and got off to a decent start. On day 1, the mystery thriller raked in Rs 4.20 crore and then over the weekend Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! fared a bit better as it collected Rs 4.50 crore and Rs 5.36 crore on Saturday and Sun day respectively. However, Sushant's film failed to sustain the good run at the box office on its first Monday as it grossed only Rs 1.68 crore. And now the Tuesday figures. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the updated box office collection a while back.
He wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, "#DetectiveByomkeshBakshy Fri 4.20 cr, Sat 4.50 cr, Sun 5.36 cr, Mon 1.68 cr, Tue 1.57 cr. Total - 17.31 cr. India biz."
Apart from Banerjee's detective saga, Hollywood action thriller Furious 7 also hit the screens last week. The film not only witnessed a earth-shattering opening but also became the biggest opener of 2015 in India. Till now, Paul walker and Vin Diesel starrer has collected Rs 81 crore in India. Adarsh had tweeted, "#FastAndFurious7 passes the 'Monday test' with distinction marks. Thu to Mon - 58 cr. GrossBOC: Thu to Mon - 81 cr. FANTABULOUS."
